Can you add to this long list of U.S. conspiracies?

I wrote the following piece as a counter-argument to
some right-winger who insisted that 9-11 (in spite of
the blatant and obvious evidence) wasn’t a government
conspiracy because conspiracies simply don’t exist. As
such, I’m trying to put together a list of all of the
well-known and largely acknowledged conspiracies.
Also, if you know of any good quotes from the ruling
elite that indicate their knowledge and acceptance of
conspiracy that, too, would be quite helpful.

And don’t forget to keep a copy of these conspiracies
for the next time you run into some
O’Reilly/Hannity/Limbaugh clone that embraces whatever
authority figures tell them without engaging in any
critical thinking on their own.

————————–

Firstly, conspiracy is a realty not a theory. Our
nation’s history is packed so full of conspiracies
that it is utterly ridiculous to pretend that they
don’t exist. In fact, many people go to prison
every year convicted of conspiracy (most of them
Republicans). The Bush cabal hardly goes a week
without being involved in some type of conspiracy. The
U.S. Attorney’s purge immediately comes to mind but
the entire push for war against Iran is a conspiracy.
Iran possessing nuclear weapons is hardly the real
issue. Obviously, Iran couldn’t use a nuclear weapon
without ensuring their own destruction
by a much superior, rogue nuclear force — the U.S.
The issue regarding Iran is one of imperialist
domination. The U.S. has targeted much of the Middle
East for its own imperialist interests.
Were Iran to develop nuclear weapons it would ensure
that Iran would not be subject to that imperialist
domination.

Other recent conspiracies of note include the Enron
conspiracy and the Jack Abramoff scandal. Both of
which involved members of the Bush cabal. Among the
most well-known recent conspiracies are the
2000 election, 9-11 (9-11 is a conspiracy even if the
government’s account is taken at face value — which,
of course, it shouldn’t be), Iraq has weapons of mass
destruction, the 2004 election, Iran contra, CIA
introducing crack cocaine into the impoverished Black
neighborhoods of Los Angeles, Watergate, the Watergate
cover-up, the Savings and Loan scandal, Gulf of Tonkin
(never happened), the JFK assassination, the JFK
assassination cover-up Cointelpro, MKULTRA, Roosevelt
encouraged the attack on Pearl Harbor and knew the
Japanese were coming, Nixon/Kissinger involvement in
the overthrow of Salvadore Allende and installation of
Pinochet, Kermit Roosevelt and the overthrow of Iran’s
democratically elected leader Mohammed Mossadeq, the
creation of the Federal Reserve(a private entity
created and organized under tremendous secrecy
designed to enrich a handful of bankers), the Robber
Baron’s and their accumulation of great wealth by
conspiring with politicians to loot the treasury
during the building of the railroad. Other, long
forgotten conspiracies include the Credit Mobilier
Scandal and the Teapot Dome scandal. And I’m sure
there are many, many more.

Additionally, a 9-11 type of false-flag terrorism
event was previously planned in the the U.S. Operation
Northwoods, or Northwoods, was a 1962 plan by the US
Department of Defense to cause acts of simulated or
real terrorism and violence on US soil or against US
interests, blamed on Cuba, in order to generate U.S.
public support for military action against the Cuban
government of Fidel Castro. As part of the U.S.
government’s Operation Mongoose anti-Castro
initiative, the plan, which was not implemented,
called for various false flag actions, including
simulated or real state-sponsored acts of terrorism
(such as hijacked planes) on U.S. and Cuban soil. The
plan was proposed by senior U.S. Department of Defense
leaders, including the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of
Staff Lyman Louis Lemnitzer.

These quotes by people in positions to know are quite
revealing of the fact that we live in a world
dominated by conspiracies among the well-connected and
powerful wealthy elite.

"In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it
happens, you can bet it was planned that way." -
Franklin D. Roosevelt

“Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men’s
views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest
men in the United States —in the fields of commerce
and manufacturing—are afraid of somebody. They know
that there is a power somewhere so organized, so
subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so
pervasive, that they had better not speak above their
breath when they speak in condemnation of it.” -
Woodrow Wilson

“Today, America would be outraged if UN troops entered
Los Angeles to restore order. Tomorrow they will be
grateful! This is especially true if they were told
that there was an outside threat from beyond, whether
real or promulgated, that threatened our very
existence. It is then that all people of the world
will plead to deliver them from this evil. The one
thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented
with this scenario, individual rights will be
willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their
well-being granted to them by the world government.” -
Henry Kissinger (Bilderburg Conference 1991 Evians,

“Naturally the common people don’t want war…but after
all, it is the leaders of the country who determine
policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the
people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist
dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist
dictatorship…all you have to do is to tell them they
are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for
lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger.
It works the same way in any country.” Herman Goering
( One of Hitler’s top men, during the Nuremberg
Trials)

The individual is handicapped by coming face to face
with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it
exists. – Edgar J Hoover

In 1913, Woodrow Wilson signed the Federal Reserve
Act. A few years later he wrote: "I am a most unhappy
man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great
industrial nation is controlled by its system of
credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The
growth of the nation, therefore, and all our
activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come
to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most
completely controlled and dominated Governments in the
civilized world no longer a Government by free
opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and the
vote of the majority, but a Government by the opinion
and duress of a small group of dominant men."

The easiest way to gain control of the population is
to carry out acts of terror. The public will clamor
for such laws if the personal security is threatened.

their promises of discretion for almost 40 years. It
would have been impossible for us to develop OUR PLAN

"For more than a century, ideological extremists at
either end of the political spectrum have seized upon
well-publicized incidents to attack the Rockefeller
family for the inordinate influence they claim we
wield over American political and economic
institutions. Some even believe we are part of a
secret cabal working against the best interests of the
United States, characterizing my family and me as
‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others
around the world to build a more integrated global
political and economic structure – one world, if you
will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am
proud of it." – David Rockefeller, Memoirs , 2002

"I came to America because of the great, great freedom
which I heard existed in this country. I made a
mistake in selecting America as a land of freedom, a
mistake I cannot repair in the balance of my
lifetime." – Albert Einstein, 1947

"I believe that banking institutions are more
dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If
the American people ever allow private banks to
control the issue of their currency, first by
inflation, then by deflation, the banks and
corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will
deprive the people of all property until their
children wake-up homeless on the continent their
fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken
from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it
properly belongs." — Thomas Jefferson

1941: On November 25, 1941, two weeks before the
Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Secretary of War
Henry Stimson (S&B, CFR) wrote about his meeting with
President Roosevelt that day. He stated that the
Roosevelt Administration was trying to see how they
could maneuver the Japanese into firing the first shot
in order to bring the United States into the war. He
wrote: "There the President . . . brought up entirely
the relations with the Japanese. He brought up the
event that we were likely to be attacked perhaps next
Monday, for the Japanese are notorious for making an
attack without warning, and the question was what we
should do. The question was how we should maneuver
them into the position of firing the first shot
without allowing too much danger to ourselves."

How do I ask my wealthy grandfather (who I barely know) for money to pay my student loans?

I’m graduating law school with 100,000 in student loan debt. I would like to work public interest but since those jobs pay so little I’ll have to take a firm job to pay off the debt. I’m thinking of asking my grandfather (who is retired and very very rich) if he’ll pay for some or all of my student loan debt. One problem: I only talk to him once a year and we’re not very close. How should I go about it?

Should I get a refinance cashout now during this financial bailout crisis?

I am looking to get a refinance cashout. I originally was searching for a home equity loan but after I called several mortgage banks, I began to learn more about a refinance cashout and an FHA refinance cashout – both look more appealing than a home equity loan. The banks I contacted told me that I would probably be better with getting a conventional refinance cashout than an FHA. So the following is the quotes I received from a conventional refinance cashout: I contacted Citi Mortgage (my current mortgage provider); I currently owe K at 6% on a property that is probably close to 0K in value. Citi Mortgage said they could get me a 30-year fixed refinance with K at 6.125% with a monthly payment of 0 (but they kept talking about adding points to pay for some points – I was confused). I currently pay them 3 a month for my mortgage. I also contacted Wells Fargo who gave me an interest rate between 5.7 and 6% to pay 7 a month. They sounded more simple with a better rate.

However, I am worried about two things: should I even refinance at this time, and which bank should I go with?

Lower car insurance by faking who is primary driver w/ parents?

I’m planning to buy a new sports car, but insurance (even on my parents family plan) is too expensive to have myself as the primary driver (24 yr old male w/ a recent accident).

My plan is to have my parents who live 80 miles away from me, be the primary driver of the new car. While I will be the primary driver of their old lincoln town car.

How risky is my plan? What’s the probability of it working perfectly even through auto claims?

A few concerns:
1) I hear auto insurers routinely check up on the mileage every 6 months, how strict are they with making sure the primary drivers are really driving their respective cars?

2) Can my parents be claimed as primary DRIVER (on the new car for auto insurance), even if we co-signed for the auto loan and I am the primary BORROWER?

2.2) what if they are the primary borrower on the loan? Does that make it more believable to the auto insurance?

FYI, i’ve already gotten quotes, and if i were the primary driver, it would be 0 a month, and my dad would be a month. So, I really hope my plan works!
I would be a secondary driver on the policy for the new car. So, if I do get in an accident or a ticket… Can’t I just say that I was borrowing the car for the weekend?

Are federal loan interest rates based monthly or yearly?

I’m confused. Are the interest rates stated based yearly or monthly on federal loans? If they are based monthly, how would you figure the yearly interest rate? I don’t mean the amount you would owe yearly (compounded). I mean to say what would be the percentage rate yearly. Is there a mathematical formula to calculate this?

Consumer Report under the Fair Credit Reporting Act?

Last year, I contacted a few insurance companies to obtain quotes on home and auto insurance. I then selected one company. I guess everybody does this once in a while.

I recently received a letter from one of the companies. The letter says that they could not provide me with a quote or coverage because of the information they obtained from ChoicePoint Insurance Consumer Center. They actually did provide me with a quote but I ignored it. They stated further that I could obtain a free copy of my consumer report under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

I understand that one can obtain a credit report if applications for a credit card / loan were denied. I wonder if anyone has had similar experience and if this consumer report is another way of gathering people’s information.

Thanks.

Back Out on Buying a New Home?

Okay, here’s the situation.

I signed paperwork to have a house built that probably isn’t going to be started until late next month and won’t be done until the Nov/December time frame (the builder won’t commit to meeting the 1 Dec deadline for the K credit, which has me nervous). I paid a 00 deposit and the 0 loan appraisal fee. My paperwork went through earlier this week and I qualified for the loan.

Things were good until I got called today about this week’s mortgage rate spike. I’m financing through the builder to take advantage of the incentives offered, and naturally their quotes are running about 1% higher than the bankrate.com average at about 6.25%.

I’m starting to get concerned now. I figured with all the stimulus spending, the FED meddling, and inflationary effects wouldn’t start hitting until I was within 120 days and able to lock without paying fees. Well that’s out the window. All signs point to rates steadily going up for the rest of the year, possibly 7-8% and I wouldn’t rule out double digits.

So the lender offered several lock-in options, one for 2 1/4 points. Now, I just don’t have that money to commit at this time because I’m a full time graduate student and my guaranteed job doesn’t start until mid-August, and I’ve been supporting myself on savings since January and setting a strict budget out to meet expenses and qualify for the home loan and take advantage of the credit.

While I’ve been told that my debt to equity is okay to sustain the rate increases, I’m concerned because when I start my new job, my goal is to try to replenish the savings I’ve lived on as quickly as possible. With just the basic neccessities, at a 6.5 or 7% rate, I feel like I’m going to be barely breaking even based on the salary of the new job. This is not what I exactly had in mind.

So my question is this. They haven’t started building the house yet. I know there’s provisions in the contract that allow me to back-out upon the completion, or if the VA doesn’t appraise the house for at least the purchase price, but what about now?

I thought rates were good, and if I could afford the points to buy down, I probably would, I just don’t have the money at the moment, and will just be starting to once again bring in steady income upon the expected closing.

I know I’ll have to go through the purchase agreement again, but I figure that this has to be something pretty common and that I wasn’t the only one affected by the transactions this week. I really feel bad for the people that thought on Tuesday they were going to get to refinance. That’s just horrible.

PS> The builder is Ryland, if that helps or anyone has experience with them.
Valerie – It’s VA. Not too concerned about the K, although I’m supposed to also make 0 deposits per month for the next 5 months.
I know I signed some form that doesn’t let me transfer the loan.
